Obituary

Steven C. Oppermann, died Friday, September 6, 2019 just one week short of his 67th birthday. Born and raised in Affton, Missouri, he lived the past 25 years of his life in Lake Timberline in Bonne Terre, Missouri. 

He is the son of the late Conrad and Astrid (nee Grunlund) Oppermann.

He is also survived by children:  Kurt and Matt Steen, Amy Oppermann, Gina Hampshire, and his grandchildren.  (His daughter, Kathy Dieckmann predeceased him in 2013.) His siblings:  Mike (Donna), Dan, Pete (Russ Ann), Tony, Matt, and Karen (Joe) Turner. (His brother, Connie, predeceased him.)

Steve was a former concrete business owner and a concrete laborer and member of Labor Local 110 for over 40 years.

He is a U.S. Army Veteran who was stationed in Germany during his service.

Steve loved to travel, especially to Jamaica and Mexico, and spent much of his time outdoors camping, fishing, boating, and hunting.

Cremation and service arrangements handled by John L. Ziegenhein and Sons, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63129.  Visitation hours Friday, September 20, 2019 from 9-noon, followed by a (noon) memorial service and then interment to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors.
