Al F. Stalley
Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church on the 19th Day of March 2023 at the age of 91. Son of the late John J. and Catherine, nee Kochner, Beloved husband of Florence Stalley, nee Kausch, dear father of; Barbara (Dan) Kovarik and Laurie (Charles Swatske) Hartig, devoted grandfather to; Sara (Justin) Hennessey, Laura (Jason) Thomas, Rebecca Kovarik, Jeffrey (Lisa) Hartig, Jamie (Mike) DeLallo, Jackie (Matt) Burress, cherished great grandfather of; Jack, Luke, and Emma Hennessey; Madeline, Olivia and Nicholas Thomas; Jacob, Isabelle, Madison, and Eliana Hartig; Andrew and Owen DeLallo, and Natalie Burress. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Georgia Stalley and a sister Lucille McGinnis Krause. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Michael (Patricia) Kausch as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Al was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired bricklayer and proud member Bricklayers’ Union Local 1 of Missouri having worked for and later owning and operating Mike Kausch and Sons. He and his wife, Florence, enjoyed over 71 years of marriage and were members of Seven Holy Founders Catholic Church. Al was a devoted grandfather. He enjoyed woodworking and fixing most anything. Al was a people person who loved to joke around and was known to give great advice. Al will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorials are appreciated in lieu of flowers in the form of Masses or to Stray Rescue of St. Louis
Visitation will be from 4 – 6 pm, Thursday, March 23, 2023, at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63129. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, March 24 at 10:30 am at Assumption Catholic Church, 4725 Mattis Rd., St. Louis, MO 63129 with the procession leaving the funeral home at 10 am.
