Alma Parker, 98, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025. Born on June 25, 1927, in Manchester, England, Alma was evacuated to Blackpool in 1939 to escape World War II bombings. She met G.I. Robert Noah in 1944 and married him in 1945. In 1946, she immigrated to the U.S., arriving at Ellis Island.
In 1973, she married Perry Parker, and they shared 46 years of marriage until his passing in 2019. Alma worked as a bus driver for the Mehlville School District for 25 years. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and volunteered with Meals on Wheels, supporting her community. She also contributed to Friends of Kids with Cancer and the American Cancer Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Parker, and her son, Ralph Noah. Alma is survived by her son, Andrew Noah, stepmother to Debbie, Cathie, and Chris, 11 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her devoted daughter-in-law, Jill, who cared for her for the past eight years.
A wake will be held at Ziegenhein Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 21, from 4:00–8:00 p.m., and again on Wednesday, October 22, at 8:30 a.m. until funeral service at 9:30 a.m. Immediately following services interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, with a luncheon afterward at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Kids with Cancer, the American Cancer Society, or Meals on Wheels.
Alma Parker’s life was one of love, courage, and selfless service. Her family and friends take comfort in knowing that her spirit, generosity, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
