Alvin Klein, Sr.

Klein, Alvin E., Sr., born July 25, 1926 and died Sept. 9, 2008, fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church. Son of the late Matthew and Edna Klein. Beloved husband of Shirley Klein (nee Singer), dear father of Alvin E. (Pola) Klein, Jr., Richard (Ann) Klein, Gail (Bill) Stobie and Douglas (Roxie) Klein, dear grandpa of Zachary (Carrie) Klein, Ellen (Michael) Theisen, Elizabeth Klein, Tyler Klein, Andrew Klein, Zane Stobie and Katie Stobie; dear G G Pa of Alexis Klein; dear brother of Fred, Elmer (Thelma) and Matthew Klein. Good friend of Tony Kveton, Art O'Donnell, Glen Zapf, DOMC and many others, and the late George Grieb. Alvin was a WW II Navy veteran and a retired Captain with the St. Louis Fire Dept., serving from March 1, 1949 - Aug. 26, 1986. Services: Visitation Thurs. 2 - 8 PM at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons, 7027 Gravois, then 9 - 10 AM at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 1413 N. 20th Street, where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM. Interment will military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Contributions to Operation Smile, www.operationsmile.org, are preferred.
