The Reverend Doctor Arthur Frederick Graudin departed this life on June 18th, 2022 at Laclede Groves, St. Louis, Missouri. Rev. Graudin was born March 30, 1927, the oldest of 3 sons born to Jacob and Mildred Graudin in Philadelphia, PA.
On June 24, 1949 Marlyn Bangert and Arthur Graudin were united in marriage in Warrenton, MO. Marlyn and Art were married 66 years 6 months and 4 days before Marlyn went to be with Jesus, December 28, 2015. The last 10 years of Marlyn’s life Arthur was her loving, patient caregiver.
Rev. Graudin attended Boston Latin School, Concordia Collegiate Institute of Bronxville, NY, and Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO. He received his Doctorate from Claremont School of Theology in Claremont, California.
Rev. Graudin served as missionary-at-large and pastor of St. James Lutheran Church, Marion, IN; Professor at Concordia College in Milwaukee, WI and assisted in the establishment of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Mequon, WI. Rev. Graudin served as pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pittsburgh, PA, and was dean of students and taught Latin and religion at the high school at Concordia Teachers College, Seward, NE. Rev. Graudin served as missionary-at-large and Pastor of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Claremont, CA. In 1974 Dr. Graudin accepted a position at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO. He taught Old Testament classes and was Director of Placement. In 1997 Dr. Graudin retired but as a Professor Emeritus continued to teach an occasional class and attended the Chapel service on a daily basis as he was able.
David Graudin the oldest child went to be with Jesus March 19, 2016. Also preceding him in death are Arthur’s brothers John Graudin and his wife Earlene, and Richard Graudin and daughter-in-law Leslie Graudin.
Arthur is survived by Debbie (Pastor Andy) Keltner, Elisabeth (Pastor Michael) Teuscher, and Mark (Julia) Graudin; 8 grandchildren James (Heather) Keltner Jr., Joe Keltner, Katie (Travis) Becker, Kelsey Keltner, Jeremiah (LeAnna) Teuscher, Nathanael (Alexis) Teuscher, Jacob (Michelle) Teuscher, and Matthew Teuscher; 3 great–grandchildren, Travis Becker, Jr., Benjamin Teuscher and Elisabeth Teuscher; 6 step great-grandchildren Tyler Stewart, Jared Stewart, Huxley Hayward; Sebastian Cossey, Athena Cossey and Atticus Cossey, 2 step great-great-grandchildren Kalin Stewart and Kizer Stewart; and sister-in-law Shirley Graudin and many other relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested to Ascension Lutheran Church, St. Louis where Arthur was a member; or the Food Bank or Preacher Basketball of Concordia Seminary St. Louis.
