Audrey M. Smith, affectionately known as "Lil Aud," fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on June 5, 2024, in Saint Louis at the age of 102. She was born on September 3, 1921, in Saint Louis City, MO, to the late August C. and Marie (nee Imhof) Friehs.
Audrey lived a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and true memories. She was a graduate of St. Elizabeth Academy and held dear her philosophy for a long life - a combination of exercise and prayer. Audrey was an avid gardener who was known for unique ability to meticulously trim her lawn with scissors. She also excelled at games like Scrabble and Jumble, showcasing her sharp intellect and love for challenges. Audrey’s faith remained important to her throughout her long life and was a lifetime member of Legion of Mary as well as a longtime parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She was known to walk most mornings to 6:30 Mass, taking in God’s blessings in nature and the beginning of a new, beautiful day along the way.
In her journey through life, Audrey found joy in the simplest of things and radiated warmth to all who knew her. She shared this incredible journey with her beloved husband the late Warren A. Smith, Jr., who now awaits her in eternity. Audrey was a loving mother to Kathleen (Paul) Wiese, Gary (Donna) Smith, Michael (the late Christine) Smith, Kevin (Terrill) Smith, Karen (the late James) Johnston, and Warren (Betty) Smith III.
Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Michael (Julia) Wiese, Karen (Paul) Bhoi, June Smith, Kyle (Susan) Smith, Liz (Tim) Smith, Stephanie Johnston, Christopher Smith, Jenny Smith, and Warren (Amy) Smith IV; as well as her adored great-grandchildren: Michael Bhoi, Jake Bhoi, Joe Bhoi, Jasmine Wiese, Henry Wiese, August Smith, Jasper Smith, and a great grandson on the way!
In addition to family ties that bound tight throughout generations, Audrey held dear special friendships with Chrissy, Jenny, Karen, Theresa, and Kimberly who brought laughter and companionship into her life.
Audrey M. Smith will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her vibrant spirit and gentle heart. May she rest in peace knowing that she leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will endure for years to come.
