Barbara J. Warden

March 6, 1941 — January 11, 2026

Barbara Jean Warden (Roth) went to be with the Lord Jesus on 1/11/2026 at the age of 84. Beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother and wonderful mother-in-law. She was loved by all who knew her. Barbara lived a life filled with love, family, and spiritual devotion to her faith in God. She was always a pleasure to be around.

Born March 6, 1941, in Ste. Genevieve, MO to Leo and Norma (Taylor) Roth. She graduated from Valle High in 1959. She met the love of her life, Edward Warden, at the Casa Loma Ballroom in February of 1960. Ed was a soldier on leave from Fort Leonard Wood. They were united in holy matrimony on March 16, 1963, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in St. Louis, MO by the Rev. John Ott. Barbara was living in St. Louis with her aunt and cousins at the time.

Barbara enjoyed dressing nicely, her hair and makeup meticulous. She loved family events to reminisce about the past. She was devoted to her husband Ed, offering unwavering support and love during his years of failing health.

She always thought the best of everyone, never had a mean word to say about anyone. She was non-judgmental, most welcoming, Christian woman that I've ever met

Barbara enjoyed office/clerical work. Some of her later jobs were at Sigma Chemical Co. as a proofreader and at Gateway Apparel in accounting and merchandising departments. She had many hobbies that she enjoyed. Her love of gardening showed in her beautiful flower beds and indoor plants that were a joy to marvel at. Her bird feeders and houses attracted a large variety of birds to gaze upon from the kitchen window. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, and she and Ed enjoyed many wonderful trips together — Hawaii, Alaska, the Pacific Northwest coast, New England states, and many National Parks out west. Barbara volunteered and was a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts, Chairman for the Girl Scouts cookie drive. Also her countless hours spent volunteering for the Mothers Club and the PTA at the Holy Cross Lutheran school.

She is preceded in death by her husband Edward, her parents Leo & Norma Roth, sister Theresa, brother-in-law Dan, son-in-law Kevin Krask, still born son William Joseph Warden.

She is survived by her 3 children: Christina Krask, David Warden (Chris), Catherine O'Brien (Kevin); 4 grandsons: Aaron Krask, Shawn Krask, Steven Warden, Wil Warden.

Sister: Linda Harrel (Jim)
