Bonnie Wideman, whose life spanned a century of remarkable change, passed away peacefully at the age of 100 on August 14, 2025. Born on September 20, 1924, in DeSoto, Missouri, Bonnie lived a life full of fortitude & resilience
She entered the world alongside her twin sister Betty, with whom she shared a cherished bond. Betty preceded her in death, but every time they were together they finished each other's sentences.
Bonnie married Luther Lee Wideman from Potosi, MO in August 1946, and together they raised four children: Barbara, Bobby, Mark, and Allen.
As a centenarian, Bonnie witnessed incredible milestones—from the advent of television and space exploration to the digital age. The invention of penicillin, jet engines, & the moon landing. She even embraced modern technology, using an iPhone, in her later years, to stay connected with her loved ones.
Bonnie’s legacy extends through several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each carrying forward her strength & adaptability.
Though she will be deeply missed, Bonnie’s century of memories, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Rest in peace, dear Bonnie. Your century of love will never be forgotten.
A visitation for Bonnie's family and friends to gather ans share memories will be held on Sunday August 17, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Parlors, 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63129. Respectfully, a private burial will be held to lay Bonnie to rest alongside her beloved husband, the late Luther Lee, in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
