Gormley, Boyd Brandt, of Saint Louis, Missouri, was born to James W. “Bill” and Judith G. (nee Pyles) Gormley and passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023, in his hometown at the age of 56 years.
He is preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by, his loving wife of 19 years, Jennifer Gormley, his devoted son, Seth Gormley, his stepdaughter, Ava Sarfaty, his beloved mother, Judy (nee Pyles) Gormley, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff and Joni Korte, two (2) nieces, Maura, and Lana Korte, and his special friends-like-family, The Querreys.
Brandt was a musician who played the trumpet and piano for many years. He was a proud Lindbergh High School graduate of the Class of 1985 and a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Blues hockey teams. Brandt loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Washington, DC, historic Boston, Ireland, and the U.S. National Parks. He took a special liking to the Smithsonian Institute Museums. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations may be made to Stray Rescue of St. Louis, 2320 Pine St., St. Louis, MO 63103, or a charity of your choice.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Service Friday, January 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. and both will be held at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63129. Interment St. Lucas UCC Cemetery.
