Carolyn June Johnstone

Carolyn J. Johnstone, nee Lee, 76, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on January 7, 2026. Beloved wife of Floyd Johnstone; loving mother of Don (Jennifer) Johnstone and Jenifer (Chris) Davis; cherished grandmother of Brandon (Megan), Jacob (Haleigh), Easton, Justin, Nathaniel, Tyler, Addison, Danielle, and Kaitlyn; and cousin of Danny Long, who is considered her dear brother. Carolyn was born on November 16, 1949 in Fredericktown, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Henry D. and the late Beulah M., nee Young, Lee. Carolyn is also survived by many other relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Carolyn met her future husband at Mason Grade School in St. Louis, while in the 7th grade and they married over 57 years ago on February 10, 1968. Their years together were filled with swing dancing, travel, and cherished friendships through Corvette clubs, the Elks, the American Legion, and the VFW. Settling in Florida for retirement was the final, joyful chapter of their adventures together. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and Nana, always keeping an immaculate house, taking pride in making everyone comfortable and excelled at making the ordinary extraordinary. Carolyn did not seek to be the center of attention; she led quietly. She approached life with humility and grace, showing meticulous care in all she endeavored.

Memorials are appreciated in lieu of flowers to; Siteman Cancer Center or Cancer Support Community of Greater St. Louis.

A memorial service will be held at 11:45 AM on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63129. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
