Carolynmae Lois Kaltenbronn

Carolynmae Lois Kaltenbronn, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in DeSoto, Missouri, at the age of 81.  She was a Courageous soul who battled dementia with grace and dignity. Born on May 29, 1943, in Saint Louis, Missouri, a devoted beautician and cherished family member, Carolyn was known for her kindness and compassion, which touched the lives of many throughout her years.

A graduate of the Bayless School District, Carolyn dedicated her life not only to her career but also to her unwavering commitment to her community and faith. For many years, she was an active member of Sacred Heart Church, where she volunteered her time generously, demonstrating her strong Catholic values through action. Carolyn’s willingness to lend a helping hand was evident to all who knew her, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile and sense of humor that brought joy to those around her. Carolyn was a true diehard St. Louis Cardinals and Blues Fan.

Carolyn is survived by her loving children, Rodney (LaDonna), Cynthia (Brian), Rory, Robert, and Cari (James), who will forever cherish her memory. She was also a beloved grandmother to Jenna, Sean, Robert, Riley, Reagan, Cami (Andrew), Kayla (Keith), Jessica (Dan), Lauren (Tim) and Joseph (Amanda); and a cherished great-grandmother to Grayson, Kole, Alexander (Erika), Ava, Luke and Alaina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Kaltenbronn, and by her parents, Homer and Lola (nee Otto) Conner. Carolyn was the youngest of her siblings, joining her departed sisters Lucille (Bob) Stokley, Norma (Fritz) Hoffman, Doris (Ray) Megl, and brother Lee (Gail) Conner in eternal rest. Additionally, she was preceded by her grandsons, John and Joseph Ramey.

Carolyn’s visitation will take place on May 5, 2025, starting at 9:00 AM, at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Homes - South County Chapel, located at 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63129. Following the visitation, a Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Assumption Catholic Church Cemetery in Herculaneum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Dementia Society of America or The Lupus Foundation of America in Carolyn's honor. 

Above all, Carolynmae Lois Kaltenbronn will be dearly missed by her family and friends, and she hopes to be remembered for the love and kindness she shared throughout her life.
