Chad Alan Smith
Went home to be with Jesus on March 11, 2026, at the age of 34.
He is survived by his wife Alyson (nee Erutti), his parents Charles "Chuck" and Kelly Smith, sister Lindsey (Brian) Behnen, and his in-laws Glenn and Cyrette Erutti. Beloved grandson of Margy and the late Fred Smith, and the late Sally "Susie" Kromer. Cherished nephew of Fred Smith, Andy Smith and the late Kris Schlaefli. Dear brother-in-law to Kristin and Dominic Vassallo, Joanna Erutti, Stephen and Carrie Erutti. Dear uncle to Olivia Behnen and Charlie Vassallo, cousin and trusted friend to many.
Chad was deeply devoted to the Lord, Alyson and his family. He was integral to both families as the consistent positive force when he entered a room, acting as a trusted counselor and advisor, a shoulder to lean on or to confide in, as well as the calming voice during the storms of life. He enjoyed family gatherings, the outdoors and sports, especially the Blues and St. Louis City SC.
A lifelong resident of the St. Louis area, Chad graduated from Northwest High School, obtained an Associates of Arts degree from St Louis Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Maryville University. Initially working in the Finance industry for Scottrade, Stifel, and TD Ameritrade, Chad eventually changed career paths ending up working in the defense industry for The Boeing Company as a Program Scheduler.
Chad is lovingly remembered by family and friends for his devotion to the Lord, a warm smile followed with big bear hugs, always demonstrating a willingness to help anyone in need or provide a kind word, treating everyone with the utmost respect and ultimately being there to just listen to those not always seen or heard. He is truly missed.
Family and friends to gather and celebrate Chad's life will take place on March 21, 2026, from 10:00 am until funeral services at 1:00 pm @ John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road. A private family burial service to follow at Copenhagen Cemetery, Farmington Missouri.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the MO Conservation or Crosspoint Church.
