Obituary

Charles “Charlie” Earnie Boyer entered into rest on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Becky Boyer, nee Simino; devoted father of Charles Eric (Jen) Boyer; cherished grandfather of Grace Ann (Logan Bolte) Boyer, Chelsea Campagna, Ashley Pluemer, and Dakota (Alexis) Pluemer; treasured great-grandfather of Laylyn Pluemer, Theo Pluemer, and Jamir Haynes; dear uncle, great-uncle, and great-great-uncle to many. Charlie is also survived by many other relatives and dear friends.

Charlie’s journey was deeply intertwined with the community that shaped him from his earliest days.

Charlie was born to eager parents, Otto and Lessie Mabel, nee Chambers, Boyer during St. Louis Spring in 1946. He later attended Wyman Grade School and later Roosevelt High School, where the foundation was laid for the many hats that he would wear throughout his life. His career was as diverse as it was impactful. He worked in medical supply sales, demonstrating an earnest commitment to supporting health care. Later, Charlie served as a Security Supervisor at St. Louis University Hospital, a role in which his careful vigilance contributed to the safety and well-being of countless individuals. Additionally, he embarked on a challenging and intriguing path as a private investigator, using his keen insight to uncover truths and provide clarity to those in need.

Beyond his professional life, Charlie was proud to be a member of the STLMPD Police Reserves, embracing a spirit of service to his city. His devotion to St. Louis extended into his personal interests, where he found joy in collecting beer cans, which was a hobby that reflected his appreciation for simple pleasures, and in his involvement with the 4x4 Explorers Jeep Club, a community where adventure and camaraderie met.

Those who knew Charlie will remember him for his steadfast character, his warmth, and the unique way he touched the lives around him. He leaves behind memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him, creating a legacy rooted in loyalty and heartfelt connection.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Siteman Cancer Center in Charlie’s honor.

A visitation for Charlie’s family and friends to gather and share memories will be held at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel 4830 Lemay Ferry Road St. Louis, MO 63129 on Saturday June 6, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with Funeral Services beginning at 6:00 p.m.
