Charles D. Jerabek fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church on the 5th day of October 2022 at the age of 77. Dear son of the late Charles F. and Filomena, nee Horak, Jerabek, beloved husband of 48 years to Peggy Jerabek, nee Reis, cherished brother of the late Stephen Jerabek and the late Toni Bertz. He is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his loyal companion Auggie
Charles was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War serving in US Army. Prior to his military service he was a graduate of Cleveland High School and the University of Missouri-Rolla having attended on a football scholarship. In his youth he was involved in the boy scouts having obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. He worked as a civil engineer and retired from C Rallo Contracting. Charles was very proud of his Czech heritage. He was a lifelong member of the American-Czech Educational Center and was its current president and a lifetime member SOKOL St. Louis, currently serving as it’s treasurer and donated much of his time and talents to the SOKOL Children’s Camp in Imperial Kimmswick. Charlie formerly played rugby for the St. Louis Bombers and was a longtime member of the South Side Indian Ball Club. He also enjoyed playing golf, reading, studying Civil War history, and traveling with his dear wife.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3-7 pm, Sunday, October 16, 2022, at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons City Chapel, 7027 Gravois Ave. St. Louis, MO 63116. Interment will be private in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
