Charles Patrick Becker passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the age of 73.
Born on April 17, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, Charlie spent nearly his entire life in South St. Louis County. He was the beloved son of the late Charles C. Becker and Jacqueline R. (Brewer) Becker and was preceded in death by his infant brother Joseph Becker.
Charlie attended Seven Holy Founders Grade School before graduating from Christian Brothers College (CBC) High School. He later earned a business degree from the University of Missouri–St. Louis. He devoted much of his working life to the instrumentation and oil industry, where he was respected for his reliability, integrity, and strong work ethic.
Although quiet by nature, Charlie had a steady presence that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Family and friends knew they could always count on him, whether they needed a helping hand, thoughtful advice, or simply someone who would always do the right thing. He gave freely of his time, quietly offered help whenever it was needed, and found joy in seeing those he loved succeed.
A gifted athlete throughout his life, Charlie excelled in many sports. His love of competition never faded, and he continued playing racquetball, softball, golf, and the annual Indian Ball tournament well into adulthood. He approached every game with preparation, strategy, and an appreciation for doing things the right way.
His greatest victories were not measured by trophies or scoreboards, but by the confidence he instilled in those he mentored and the example he set through his quiet generosity, patience, and integrity. His influence lives on in every lesson he taught, every game he shared, and every life he helped shape.
Charlie is survived by his brother, Timothy Becker; his sister, Cynthia (the late Kendall) Merrill; his nephew, Erik (Courtney) Becker; his nieces, Jacqueline (Joesph) Moleski and Jennifer Becker; and his cherished great-nieces and great-nephews, Jaylee Becker, Jaxton Becker, Kora Moleski, Kylie Moleski, Charlie Rose Moleski, and Joseph Moleski. He also leaves behind many dear friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, loyalty, and friendship.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Home, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63129. Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Assumption Church, 4725 Mattis Road, St. Louis, MO 63128. The Burial after Mass will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, 5901 Mackenzie Road, St. Louis, MO 63123.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to a charity of the donor's choice in Charlie's honor.
