Charlotte Close

Close, Charlotte, of St. Louis, Missouri, was born to Walter and Viola (nee Recker) Jungkuntz asleep in Jesus, Tuesday, May 3, 2022, in hometown at the age of 96 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and beloved wife of the late, John F. Close.

Loving Grandmother of Sandy Belanger, Kimberly Monterrubio (Ed), Lisa Oberle (Andy), Edward Belanger IV (Elizabeth), Ben Belanger (Shelby), Kelly Parrott (Craig), Lindsay Barton (OFC Michael) and Megan Baker (Nic).

Loving GG to Roger Monterrubio, Livia, Gracelyn and Glen Oberle, Alayna Belanger, Jessica and John Parrott, Hayden, Alexis and Kenneth Barton, Sophie Baker,

Sister Juanita Volk and Aunt.

Charlotte was a sweet, kind, gentle, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, GG. She loved God, her family and friends. After graduating from Harris Stowe, she taught kindergarten in the St. Louis Public Schools until she started her family. She loved to play golf, travel, and in the later years, cruise. Many memories were made and cherished of trips all over North America. A favorite destination with the grandchildren was Myrtle Beach, where she loved to ride the waves on her raft. She has cruised Alaska, Antarctica and Panama Canal in addition to the Caribbean. She was one of the original Blues fans and it continued throughout her life. She volunteered many hours at the South County YMCA. She was an active member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection – teaching Sunday School, Ladies Guild, Canasta, Mission Circle and Prayer Shawl Group. Her kindness and strong Christian faith will be missed by all that she met.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church, the Salvation Army or the Charity of Your Choice.

Services: Visitation, Sunday, May 8, 2022, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Home, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63129. Service at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 9907 Sappington Road, St. Louis, MO 63128 with Visitation beginning at 9:00 am until time of Service at 10:00 am. Interment at Our Redeemer Cemetery.
