Curtis LeRoy Elliott Sr., 91, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026, at De Greeff Hospice in St. Louis, Missouri.
Curtis was born on June 6, 1934, on the Elliott family farm in Black River Township near Hendrickson, Missouri. On November 19, 1955, he went on his first date with Delane Bradley. They quickly became inseparable and were married on June 24, 1956. Through life’s joys and challenges, they shared 70 devoted years together.
Curtis was a loving and dedicated father who always placed his family first. Together, Curtis and Delane raised and educated three children. He believed deeply in the value of education and worked tirelessly—often seven days a week for extended periods—to help his children achieve it.
He is survived by his beloved children: Curt (Sandy) Elliott Jr., John (Donna) Elliott, and Robin (Howard) Huhmann. He was a cherished grandfather to Amanda (Joel) Binkholder, Brittney (Mike) Johnson, John Huhmann, Sierra Elliott, and Brooke Elliott, and a proud great-grandfather to Kashton, Emerson, Myla, Bo, and Aiden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Farrington Elliott and Hannah Geiger (née Holt); his sister, Alma Woodward; and his brother, Henry Elliott. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
Curtis retired from Boeing after more than 42 years of service as a machinist, ultimately achieving the distinction of journeyman machinist. He took great pride in his work and in the years he spent with the company, previously known as McDonnell Aircraft and McDonnell Douglas.
He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army Airborne, serving during the Korean War. In his free time, Curtis and Delane enjoyed fishing, camping, and bowling, creating many treasured memories together.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Curtis’s name to No Kid Hungry. End Child Hunger in America. Ending child hunger was a cause close to Curtis’s heart. Having grown up in a food-insecure home, he believed deeply that no child should ever go hungry.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm, Sunday, February 22, 2026, at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons, South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. St Louis, MO 63129.
