Daniel "Dan" Bellanger, born on September 18, 1945, in Saint Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, in Arnold, Missouri. He was a beloved father and cherished grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of love that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Daniel earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, a testament to his dedication to education and personal growth. His commitment to service extended beyond academics; he proudly enlisted in the United States Army on October 27, 1964, and honorably discharged on October 26, 1970. Dan took great pride in serving his country during a pivotal time in history.
Daniel's life was enriched by his unwavering faith, which guided him through every challenge and filled his heart with joy. He found immense happiness in the company of his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Dan also cherished his time spent fishing with his sons, creating memories that will stay with them forever.
He is remembered as a loving father of Mark (Diane) Bellanger and Matthew (the late Leah) Bellanger, and cherished grandfather of AJ, Connor, Aiden, and Cole Bellanger, and beloved brother to Kathy Gunn, Chris (Tim) Breaux and Bob (Jackie) Bellanger; and as a dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Dan touched the lives of those around him with kindness and genuine warmth, establishing enduring relationships throughout his life.
Daniel was preceded in death by his loving wife Carroll (nee Gossrau) Bellanger, parents, Joseph Aaron and Bernice Muriel (nee Berberich) Bellanger and his brother David, and sister Pam. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will carry forward the joy and love he shared so freely.
Visitation will be held on July 21, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Homes - South County Chapel, located at 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63129. A Funeral Service will take place the following day, July 22, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery
