Daniel “Dan” Glon Asleep in Jesus on October 1, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer, in Saint Louis City, Missouri, the city where he was also born on December 25, 1969. He will be remembered as an enthusiast for life, a man who brought energy wherever he went, and someone known as the life of the party, a jokester, and a gifted storyteller.
Dan attended Immaculate Heart of Mary for grade school and graduated from St. Mary’s High School with the class of 1988. In his younger years, he played football and hockey, interests that reflected the spirit and vitality he carried throughout his life. He began his career at AG Edwards, and when the company transitioned to Wells Fargo, he remained with the firm, dedicating 30 years of service there.
Outside of work, Dan found joy in the things he loved most. He was an avid hunter who enjoyed the outdoors, planting flowers, and listening to sports games on the radio. He also loved music, and those who knew him will remember the enthusiasm he brought to the simple pleasures of life as much as to its biggest moments.
Among the accomplishments that meant the most to Dan was his marriage to his wife, Misty, on October 2, 2013. In his eyes she was his angel whom he loved so dearly. Dan and Misty had affectionate names for each other and was a team. They enjoyed cooking together. That commitment to family, loyalty, and showing up for others was an important part of who he was.
Dan was a faithful participant in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Misty Glon, née Clark; his son, Jack Owen Glon; his sister, Sharon Glon; and his brother, Mark Glon and Mark’s wife, Donna. He is also lovingly remembered by his dogs, Bryzee and Rocky, who were part of his daily life and companionship. May the love he shared and treasured with his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends continue to be a source of comfort and strength in the days ahead.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack H. Glon; his mother, Carol (nee Vacca) Glon; his sisters, Deborah Glon and Pam Glon; his brother, Jack G. Glon; and his dogs, Jersey and Winnie.
In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation in honor of Dan to his family.
A memorial gathering will be held on October 8, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Homes - South City Chapel, 7027 Gravois Ave, St. Louis, Missouri 63116. A memorial service will follow there on October 8, 2026, from 7:00 p.m.
Dan’s memory will live on in the stories told about him, in laughter shared among those who loved him, and in the lasting impression of a life lived with heart, humor, and devotion.
