David R. Poley Sr.

David Ray Poley, Sr., age 87, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026.

David was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a dedicated member of Bakers Union Local 4. He was an avid NASCAR and St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed watching Mizzou basketball games. David loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing at Bull Shoals with family and friends. He also cherished trips to the beach and visits to local wineries. Above all, David treasured time spent with his family and the many friendships he cultivated throughout his life.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Poley; his mother, Lucy Mae Poley (Coffer); his father, George T. Poley; and his brother, Paul Thomas Poley.

He is survived by his sons, David R. Poley, Jr. (Tina) and Theodore G. Poley (Christina); daughter, Audrea Lamb (Martin); grandchildren, Kyle Poley, Corey Lamb, Maddie Steffe (Chris), Christian Lamb, Megan Cisneros (Joe), Morgan Casper (Jordan), and Mackenzie Lamb; great-grandchildren, Kryslyn Poley, Kyndryk Poley, Oakley Steffe, Clover Lamb, and Grayson Cisneros; his sisters Wilma Sterling and Betty Allen; along with many other relatives and dear friends who will cherish his memory.

David will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his country and community, and the many memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63129. Funeral services will begin at 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow at Shepherd Hills Cemetery, 1925 Old Highway M, Barnhart, Missouri.
