Dolores Texier de Roode Bellers,98, died on August 10,2023, Devoted wife, mother, and stepmother, Dee loved her church, Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church and volunteered in the OASIS tutoring program at the school there. She loved reading, gardening, and being with her large extended family and her many friends.  She received her RN degree and worked at St. Anthony’s Hospital when it first opened and later at the clinic at downtown’s Famous Barr.  Several of her grandchildren have followed her into their own nursing careers.

 

 

She is preceded in death by husbands Louis R. de Roode and Carl J. Bellers, her brother Joseph Peter Texier, and daughter Elaine Kromer.

She is survived by three sons:  Louis K. (Patricia), Joseph (Chyree), and Robert (Kathleen)de Roode; 10 grandchildren:  Christine, Joseph, Catherine, Michael, Timothy, Chad, Cori, Joseph P., David, Nicole, as well as 18 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.  Also surviving her are 6 stepchildren:  Barb (Jim) Morrison, Patricia (David) Finchem, Debra (Jim) Otts, Mariann (Greg) Jones, Kathy (Pete) Amann, Carl(Lisa) Bellers, 18 step grandchildren, and 11 step great grandchildren.

 

A family funeral mass will be celebrated at a later date.  Donations may be made to Macular Degeneration Assoc, 5969 Cattleridge, Sarasota, FL 34232 or 941-893-4387.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ziegenhein Funeral Homes.
