Donald Cusumano

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Donald Cusumano passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, at the age of 85.

Donald was the beloved son of the late Vito and Sarah Cusumano (nee Brocato); cherished husband of Pat Cusumano (nee McCarthy); devoted father of Donna (Michael) Campbell, Theresa (Andrew) Sciaroni, Karen (Edward) Naeger, Christy (Daniel) Briegleb, Richard (Amy Reidel) Cusumano, and the late Cary Cusumano. He was the proud grandfather of thirteen grandchildren and great-grandfather of eight great-grandchildren. Donald will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his family, friends, former students, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Donald and Pat shared a beautiful and enduring marriage of 62 years, built upon love, devotion, and commitment to one another and their family. Above all else, Donald treasured time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.

Known by many as one of the hardest working men they ever met, Donald dedicated his life to education and helping others. He earned his Ph.D. in Psychology and served as a professor at St. Louis Community College for more than fifty years, teaching from 1968 until his retirement in 2018. Throughout his distinguished career, he inspired countless students with his wisdom, compassion, and dedication to learning. He was highly respected by colleagues and loved by generations of students whose lives he helped shape.

Outside of his professional accomplishments, Donald enjoyed many passions. He loved sports, traveling, and visiting casinos, with Las Vegas holding a special place in his heart. Whether exploring new destinations, cheering on his favorite teams, or enjoying a trip with family, he embraced life with enthusiasm and joy.

Donald leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, education, faith, and family. His kindness, wisdom, and steadfast devotion to those he loved will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
