In loving memory of Dorothy M. Dochnal, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and cherished friend to many. Dorothy's journey began on August 5th, 1930, in Union, Missouri, where she was born to her proud parents. She peacefully departed from this world on February 26th, 2024, in Kirkwood, Missouri.
Dorothy led a fulfilling life defined by her dedication to her family and community. Throughout her career at Union Electric until retirement, she exemplified hard work and commitment in all that she did. However, it was her role as an active member of Mount Tabor UCC Church that truly shone as one of her proudest accomplishments. Her unwavering faith and service were beacons of light for all who knew her.
Away from work and church duties, Dorothy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, sewing, and traveling - activities that brought color and vibrancy to her days. She had a curious mind and a nurturing spirit that endeared her to those around her.
Dorothy is now reunited with her beloved husband, the late Elmer F. Dochnal. Together, they shared a lifetime of love and memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew them. Dorothy is survived by her three devoted daughters: Elaine (Richard) Dorsey, Judy (Mark) McDaniel, and Diane (David) Scheu. She also leaves behind a legacy through her grandchildren: Mark McDaniel Jr., Jonathan McDaniel, Andie Dorsey, Katie Dorsey, Matthew Scheu, Jacob Scheu; and great-grandchildren: Kieran McDaniel, Brody McDaniel, Ty McDaniel, Ruby McDaniel.
To all those who had the privilege of knowing Dorothy M. Dochnal - whether as family or friend - she will be remembered for her kindness, grace, and unwavering love. Her presence will be deeply missed but the memories shared with her will live on eternally.
Rest in peace, dear Dorothy, your love and compassion will continue to inspire us all.
