Dr. Robert Hale

Dr. Robert E. Hale passed away on February 1, 2023 surrounded by his family.  Beloved husband of Betty Lee Hale, nee Avis; dear father of Lee E. Hale and Katherine E. Leary (John); proud grandfather of Joshua and Allison Leary, Shea and Logan Hale; and dear brother of Harold Hale. He was preceded in death by his parents Clay Evans and Annalise, nee Gentry, Hale, eight sisters, and two brothers.

Bob was born in Litton, Tennessee on December 30, 1938.  He graduated from Cumberland County High School, received a Bachelor of Arts from West Virginia University, a Master's from University of Tennessee, and a Doctorate from West Virginia University.  He joined the faculty of Saint Louis University in 1970 where he taught statistics and became the chairman of the Research Methodology Department until his retirement in 1997.

In addition to education, Bob enjoyed gardening, sports, his time as a Mason, and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

Visitation will be at Concord Trinity United Methodist Church on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 9:30 – 11:00 with memorial service at 11:00.

Bob donated his body to the Saint Louis University School of Medicine so that he could continue to teach, even after he had passed.
