Ernestine "Ernie" Rose Ruester

Ruester, Ernestine “Ernie” Rose (nee Thenhaus) passed away on Saturday November 18, 2023, at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late Glennon Wesley Ruester; daughter of the late August and Elizabeth Thenhaus (nee, Nolting); devoted mother of daughters Karen (Sheldon) Danto and Kathy (Robert) Taylor; cherished grandmother of Christopher (Molly) Taylor, Katie (John) Parai, Jeffrey (Tricia) Danto, and Courtney (Ryan) Merrell; blessed great-grandmother of Ian and Elliott Parai, Lucy, Abbie and Ellie Danto, Willow and Rose Taylor, and Madison and Evan Merrell; Ernie is also survived by a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. In her final days, Ernie was lovingly cared for by Mattis Pointe Arbors staff. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Emmaus Homes.

Visitation will be held on Sunday December 3, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel 4038 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63129. A service will be held at the funeral home the following morning, Monday December 4, at 10:00 a.m. Internment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery following the service.
