Frank August Hogrebe, of St. Louis, Missouri, baptized with the hope of Christ's Resurrection, passed away June 13, 2025. Born on December 22, 1970, in St. Louis, Missouri to Edwin and Joan (nee Wolf) Hogrebe. He was a devoted father to his six daughters: Emma Hogrebe, Ellie Hogrebe, Noelle Hogrebe, Isabella Hogrebe, Rosalia Hogrebe, and Isadora Hogrebe, whose lives he enriched with his love and guidance. He will also be missed by his sister, Lydia (Andy) Carpenter, niece Katelyn Craig, and nephews John Simons and Nathaniel Carpenter,
A proud alumnus of CBC, Frank's faith as a devout Catholic played a significant role in his life. Even as a youth in south St. Louis, he approached each day with a joyful heart, embodying the love of Christ in his interactions with others. Frank found joy in the great outdoors: in his younger years, he explored the wonders of spelunking, and continued to enjoy fishing.
In his time as an IT consultant with Cognizant, Frank's time was marked not only by his expertise but also by his role as a mentor to many. He had a remarkable ability to build and maintain friendships, leaving a lasting impression on all he encountered.
Watching "What About Bob," - Frank's favorite movie - became a cherished Christmas Eve tradition. He often quoted lines from the movie, bringing smiles to those around him. His sense of humor and infectious laughter will surely be missed but fondly remembered by all who experienced the joy of his company.
A visitation to celebrate Frank's life will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Homes - South City Chapel in St. Louis. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM at The Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis; Chapel service will take place at Resurrection Cemetery at 11:30.
