Gary Mcdaniel

Gary McDaniel was born to Betty and James McDaniel on October 30th 1958 and spent most of his youth in Sullivan, MO.

In October of 1991 Gary married Sharon after the two were introduced by his oldest sister Darla. To the excitement of stepdaughter Stasha, Gary and Sharon welcomed their first child together the following April and two years later welcomed their second.

After receiving his certification in radiology, Gary eventually became the Manager of the Radiology Information Systems at Saint Louis University Hospital where he was employed for nearly 40 years.

In his free time Gary enjoyed the outdoors. He often spent time on the water, floating on the Meramec River or sitting on a beach in Florida and the Bahamas. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the Missouri Botanical Gardens, Saint Louis Zoo, Grants Farm and Cardinal games. When not outside he enjoyed all things sci-fi, especially going to conventions.

Gary is survived by his wife Sharon, his children Stasha Miller, Michael McDaniel, and Lauren McDaniel (John Noatch), three granddaughters Summer, Alissa, & Miranda Moreland, mother and stepfather Betty & Charles Strauser, father and stepmother James & Charlotte McDaniel, five sisters, and a host of other family members and friends.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 10:00 am until Memorial services at 11:00 am at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63128.
