Gertrude Fresenburg

Gertrude K. Fresenburg (nee Gier) peacefully passed away on the 8th day of February 2023 at the
age of 93.

Beloved wife of the late Francis John Fresenburg and daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (nee Molitor) Gier. Loving mother of Brad (Carol), Bart (Barbara) and Brian (Peggy)Fresenburg. Cherished grandmother of Katherine Couturier (Cameron); Kim, Michael (Megan), Andrew (Natasha) and Nicole (Rachel Lee) Fresenburg and great-grandmother of Hailey and Hannah Couturier; Emily, Ethan and Cooper Fresenburg. Dear aunt and friend of many.

For 23 years, Gertrude was a co-proprietor of Fresenburg Bake Shop with her husband Frank. Gertrude enjoyed baking, gardening and quilting in her retirement years. She was a member of the
Sunset Hills Garden club and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her sister Ann Eckert (Ray) and her brothers Nicholas (Delores) and Frank (Joan) Gier.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 8:30 am until 9:30 am with Prayers to follow at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel.  Mass will follow at Assumption Catholic Church at 10:00 am.  Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Vincent DePaul-Assumption Mattis, 4725 Mattis Road, St. Louis, MO 63128.
