Mr. Gilbert Edgar, 66, a resident of St. Louis, Missouri, died September 16, 2025, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Mr. Edgar was born October 12, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Harold J. Edgar and Priscilla (Voisey) Edgar. He worked in a Steel Plant building ammunition boxes for several years.

Mr. Edgar is survived by 2 daughters, Renee Dillon and Crystal Edgar, both in Union City, and 2 sons, Noble Simms of Colorado and Gilbert Edgar Jr. of Troy, Missouri; 16 grandchildren Randy Edgar, Tim Vratney, Emily Vratney, Maddox Edgar, Gabriel Edgar, Oliver Edgar Ricky Dillon, Levi Dillion, Brad Dillon, JoJo Dillon, Noble Simms, Ava Edgar, Mia O’Neal, Jaxon Busby, and Jaxx Dillon; 4 brothers, Charles (Lisa) Madina, David (Curly) Edgar, Johnny (Sherry) Edgar, and Donald Edgar; 3 sisters, Effie Berkemeier, Margie Mandina, and Danielle (Rusty) Stiller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold J. Edgar and Priscilla Edgar; daughter Stephanie Edgar, and 2 brothers, Irvin (Pinky) Edgar and Billy Robinson.

Gilbert had a deep love for bicycle riding, often pedaling through winding trails, finding joy in the freedom and fresh air. He also cherished long, thoughtful walks, which allowed him moments of reflection and connection with nature. However, what truly set Gilbert apart was his extraordinary gift for storytelling. He had an enchanting way of weaving tales that captivated his audience, leaving them with memories that would last a lifetime.

Above all else, Gilbert's greatest legacy is the boundless love and care he poured into his children. His devotion to them was evident in every moment they shared, and he will always be remembered as a nurturing father who made each of them feel cherished and valued. Gilbert's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him, reminding us to embrace our passions and share our love with the world.

A visitation for Gilbert’s family and friends to gather and share memories will be held on Sunday September 28 at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel 4820 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63129 from 1:00 p.m. until. memorial service.at 2:00 p.m.
