Gloria Elizabeth Holt, nee Metzner, united with the Lord and reunited with her family on Wednesday November 19, 2025, at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Robert Gary Holt; devoted mother of the late Stephen Letko and stepmother of surviving Rob (Andrea) Holt; blessed grandmother of Natalie and Gena Holt; dear sister of Louis L. (Sandy) Metzner Jr. and the late Carole (the late Joe) Honaker; treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews; and precious daughter of the late Louis L. Sr. and the late Helen Elizabeth, nee Scrivner, Metzner. Gloria is also survived by many other dear relatives and countless friends.

Gloria was born in St. Louis, Missouri, ringing in the new year of 1941, to excited parents Louis Sr. and Helen Metzner. Throughout her life, Gloria held her unwavering Lutheran faith close to her heart. She was a treasured member of the community at Salem Lutheran Church and celebrated countless services at the church throughout her life. Gloria is remembered for her love of flowers, the beauty of God’s blessings evident through their sight and scent. Gloria was blessed with grace and loved all who were lucky enough to meet her. She truly was the sweetest person and will be endlessly missed.

Gloria’s family will cherish memories made with her, especially those made at parties, family gatherings, and holidays. Gloria loved to host, creating a welcoming and festive space for her family to gather and celebrate any occasion. Gloria’s warmth and love will be greatly missed, but the time shared with her will be cherished for years to come. May she rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to American Cancer Society in Gloria’s honor. A special note of gratitude to Valerie McFerrin whose presence and assistance in Gloria’s final earthly days is cherished.

A visitation for Gloria’s friends and family to gather and share memories will be held on Sunday November 23, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South City Chapel 7027 Gravois Ave. St. Louis, MO 63116. Gloria’s funeral service will be held the following afternoon, November 24, at 1:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery immediately following her funeral, alongside her husband, the late Robert.
