Howard “Wayne” Massey passed away on September 4, 2026, in Saint Louis City, Missouri, at the age of 71. He was born on July 28, 1955, in Saint Louis County, Missouri.

Wayne built a career in truck driving, a path that allowed him to travel widely and see many beautiful cities. He enjoyed adventure and traveling, and that spirit of movement and discovery remained an important part of his life.  Most of his driving was close to home so that he could have a good nights rest in his own bed.  He was also an avid hunter and fisherman who appreciated the peaceful, tranquil time those pursuits brought him. In addition, he enjoyed playing tennis and found happiness in the outdoors and in staying active.

Above all, Wayne treasured the time he spent with his family. He enjoyed making special memories with his grandchildren and sharing meaningful moments with those he loved most. Whether surrounded by family or enjoying the quiet of hunting and fishing, he found joy in both companionship and the simple beauty of life.

Wayne is survived by his spouse and partner, JoAnn Martin; his loving daughter, Lauren Massey; and his sons, Brian Massey and Patrick (Brett) Massey. He is also survived by his step-sons, Shawn (Debbie) Martin and Ron (Ciara) Adkison. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Kyle Genthon, Tyler Genthon, Trenton Martin, Taylor Martin, Noah Adkison, and Selena Adkison. Dear brother of Sharon (the late Dick) Burt, his sister, Phyllis (Henry) Massey and his brother, Mark (Lisa) Massey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard and Reba (nee McFarland) Massey.
