Ivan C. Fahland, 94, of Arnold, passed away on Tuesday April 16, 2024. Born on August 31, 1929, to William and Della Fahland. He now leaves behind a legacy of lending a hand that impacted many lives.
He is survived by his loving twin daughters, Linda Triola and Brenda Reincke; his son-in-law, Robert Triola; granddaughters Andrea Triola and Ashley Reincke; great-grandson Nolan; great-granddaughter Ariana; as well as many friends. Ivan is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, and his beloved wife, Betty.
He attended high school in Annapolis, Missouri, before joining the Army, and soon being deployed to the Korean War, serving in the 40th Division Tank Corps as a tank driver. Ivan was one of the 2 surviving members of his Division.
Ivan had an amazing work ethic -- "never missing a day of work." He loved his 31 years at Continental Can working as a Maintenance Engineer. In retirement, he bought and sold cars and recreational vehicles all while putting together bicycles at the local Walmart.
Above all, he loved Betty Lou, his wife of 60 years. She was his guiding light as he was hers. They went everywhere together, enjoying the same activities and adventures. In recent years, Ivan found love and companionship in his Pomeranian, Buddy. They were inseparable, sometimes going for 3 walks in a single day.
Ivan had a long and very fulfilling life and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends. There will forever be a hole in our hearts for Ivan. No words can describe our feelings. He will always be with us, our memories of him will never be diminished, but he is finally reunited with Betty in everlasting life.
