Jacqueline “Jackie” Marie Hempen (nee Daugherty), was called
back home to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 5, 2023,
at the age of 86 in St. Louis, MO. Jackie was born on July 20,
1936 in Washington, MO and was the daughter of the late John
J. and Gladys E. (Smith) Daugherty. She is survived by her
devoted life partner of 40 years, Jerry Baumann, her twin sons;
Kevin (Gina) Hempen and Keith Hempen, five (5) grandchildren;
Dan (Christy) Hempen, Paul Hempen, Brianne Hempen, Ashton
Hempen and Charis Hempen and her three (3) greatgrandchildren;
Trinity, Nehemiah and Chloe. She is preceded in
death by her infant son Steven and her brother Lawrence
Jackie was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in South
County. She attended Blessed Sacrament Elementary School
and St. Mark’s High School in St. Louis and was a retired
business owner of Propipe Mechanical Contractors and
American Sheetmetal Systems, Inc. She enjoyed reading,
embroidery and cooking along with an appreciation for fine
wines, interior decorating, art and music. Most of all she loved
her family and enjoying time spent with them and will be fondly
remembered and missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 22 from 4-8 p.m. at John L.
Ziegenhein & Sons, 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63129.
Family prayer service on Monday, January 23 at 9:20 a.m. at the
funeral home and then to Assumption Catholic Church, 4725
Mattis Rd., St. Louis, MO 63128 for A Celebration of Life Mass at
10:00 a.m. Interment following at Resurrection Cemetery.
