Jennie Irvin

Jennie Johnson Irvin, 81, of Saint Louis County, MO, passed away Sunday October 5, 2025, at Mercy South Hospital. She was born in Saint Louis, MO, April 25, 1944, to parents Max and Mona Johnson.

Jennie married the love of her life, Danny Irvin, in 1978, and together they share 28 years filled with memories, laughter, and affection. Early in their marriage, they spent considerable time in and around her husband’s hometown of Piedmont, MO.

Jennie was known for her love for animals, rescuing and giving a loving home to many during her long life. She also supported many charities devoted to the care of animals.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Danny.

Jennie is survived by her oldest and dearest friend Barbara Bonney of Troy, MO; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Harry Bunnie Willson, of St. Charles, MO; one nephew: Andrew Willson of Arnold, MO; five nieces: Emily Willson of Kansas City, MO, Meghan (Phil) Yeary of Philadelphia, PA, Alexis (Steven) Palubiak of University City, MO, Hadley Willson of Marion, IN, and Teagan Willson of St. Charles, MO. Her presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

A competitive roller skater in her youth, she later worked for the U.S. government at the Aviation Command and Steel Import Monitoring and Analysis System (SIMA).

Grave-side services and Interment will take place at a later date in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Saint Louis, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations to ASPCA, Humane Society, Stray Rescue, or Wounded Warriors Project will be appreciated.
