Joan Schroeter

Schroeter, Joan A, nee Sippel, passed away on Saturday September 9, 2023, at the age of 89. Preceded in death by husband Leroy Schroeter and parents George and Louise, nee Bleeck, Sippel &; survived by beloved children Lisa (Timothy) Kelley, Joy (Bryan) Overmann, and Lee (Rebecca) Schroeter; cherished grandchildren Cody (Christina) Overmann, Tyler (Morgan) Overmann, Alyssa (Lucas Wells) Overmann, Angela (Brandon) Marty, Anna Schroeter, David Kelley, and Eric Schroeter; dear great-grandchildren Jaxon, Mia, and McKenna.

 

Joan was a former member at St. Johns United Church of Christ and was a charter member of Prince of Peace United Church of Christ where she was active in the Women’s Fellowship Club and Couples’ Club. Joan was known for taking part in a variety of activities, from playing cards with her husband and friends to baking cookies for Christmas. She liked to travel with her late husband and, in her younger days, dancing with him. But Joan was best known for the way she took care of and supported her grandchildren.

Visitation on Thursday September 14, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd., St. Louis, MO 63129. Her funeral will take place the following morning, September 15, 2023, at 12:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment in St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery.
