JoAnn N. Anderson, Asleep in Jesus on December 28, 2025, beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother and wonderful mother-in-law. JoAnn lived a life filled with love, family, and faith.

For 68 years, JoAnn was the beloved wife of Donald Anderson. Together they built a family that thrived on love and camaraderie. JoAnn is survived by her devoted children: Stephen (Norma) Anderson, Kenneth (the late Diana) Anderson, and David (Elizabeth) Anderson. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Michelle Melton, Scott (Mary) Anderson, Lauren (Sean) Murphy, and Rachel Beth (Jesse) Schroeter, all of whom were deeply loved by her.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jessie (nee Urquhart) Embree. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of many and was loved by all who knew her.

JoAnn was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 2, 1934 and grew up in St. Louis, MO. She graduated from Cleveland High school. She was active in Job's Daughters Bethel #12 notably serving as a Past Queen. She was a member of St. Johns Evangelical UCC Mehlville for over 50 years. Her passion for knitting and baking brought joy not only to her family but also to her church community where she lovingly crafted many items for those in need.

Visitation services for JoAnn will take place at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Homes - South County Chapel in St. Louis on January 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Further visitation will be held at St. Johns Evangelical UCC, Mehlville, MO on January 7, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at the same location at 11:00 AM, with interment at St. Trinity Cemetery in Saint Louis at 12:30 PM.
