JoAnn E. (nee Mataya) Gruen
Entered into rest on September 4, 2020 at the age of 80. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th from 10-12pm at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Homes (7027 Gravois Ave, St. Louis, MO 63111) and then to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for the committal service. Memorial donations in JoAnn's name may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Beloved wife of the late Richard F. Gruen; devoted mother of the late Daniel G. Gruen, Jennifer A. (Robert) Tomiser, Christine M. (Michael) Mauer, Jane E. (Andrew) Throm, Carolyn J. (Steve) Kroeck, and Andrew R. (Carrie) Gruen; cherished grandmother of 13; dear friend to many.
JoAnn is remembered as a veracious reader who was passionate about her family. She had a green thumb, and similar to her husband, Richard, was considered a movie “buff.” She continues to be missed, but not forgotten.
