John R. Kern

John R. Kern, age 67, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026.

Born to the late John O. Kern and Dorothy N. Kern (née Monroe), John was a devoted son, brother, uncle, veteran, and friend whose life was marked by faith, service, and kindness. He is survived by his loving siblings, Jim (Cheryl) Kern, Chris (Bob) Juengel, Joe (Rebecca) Kern, Connie McKinley, and Cathy (Frank Dattoli) Kern. He was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews and will be fondly remembered by his extended family and numerous friends.

John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for more than 20 years. His dedication, integrity, and commitment to serving others reflected the values that guided his life. Following his military career, he continued to touch the lives of those around him through his generous spirit and steadfast faith.

A parishioner of his Lutheran church, John found strength and comfort in his faith and lived as an example of compassion and humility. He also enjoyed bowling and treasured the friendships, camaraderie, and good times the sport brought throughout the years.

Even in death, John continued to help others. Through his decision to be an organ donor, he gave the gift of sight, leaving a lasting legacy of generosity and hope.

John's family and friends take comfort in the memories they shared with him and in the lasting impact he made on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
