Joseph “Joe" A. Berry, a dedicated father, cherished grandfather, great-grandfather and dear friend, passed away peacefully in Saint Louis, MO, on December 23, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on November 15, 1936, in Saint Louis, Joe spent his life in the community he loved, demonstrating a commitment to hard work, generosity, and an unwavering passion for family and friends.

Early on, Joe was a member of the Air National Guard. His career expanded to owning and operating several businesses, including Echo Express and Charlene Pony Express. Joe devoted 50+ years to delivering newspapers, until they ceased operation. He most recently worked for Flanagan-White Delivery.

Joe lived life with a spirit of integrity, marked by hard work, dependability, and kindness. Those who knew him will always recall his remarkable ability to share laughter and deliver a well-timed joke. His generosity knew no bounds, making him a beloved figure in the lives of his family, friends, co-workers and acquaintances.

Joe's interests were diverse, with a particular fondness for automobiles and driving—elements that were prevalent throughout his career. He enjoyed attending stock car races, watching NASCAR and Cardinal baseball. He loved day road trips and camping with family.

He is survived by his loving children, Laura Jones and JoAnn (Jeff) Preis, stepsons Rick and Roger Goldmann; his cherished grandchildren, Tricia Gross, Joe, Lisa Strobl and Danielle, Michael, Paul Berry, Sarah Rackovan, Kadie Olenyik, Ricky Goldmann. Joe was a beloved cousin, uncle and great uncle.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene (Cook), son, Mike, stepsons Ronnie and Randy Goldmann, sister, Carol Wagner, parents, Gus and Gertrude Berry.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on January 7, 2026, at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Homes - South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63129. Visitation will take place on January 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM until Mass at 11:00 AM, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 309 Hoffmeister Ave, St. Louis, MO 63125, followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Park, 10180 Gravois Rd, Affton, MO 63123.

Joe’s Berry's legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
