Joseph "Joe" Gennaro

Joseph A. Gennaro, born September 27, 1969, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. He will be remembered for his incredible work ethic, unwavering strength, unforgettable sense of humor, and his love of cooking—a passion that brought so many family members and friends together around the table.

Joe was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Anthony B. Gennaro and Carmela V. Gennaro (née DiGregorio).

He is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Rose Marie Gennaro (née Gaynor) and her longtime partner, Richard Sands; and Josephine Davis (née Gennaro) and her husband, Tim Davis.

Joe was a proud uncle to Amanda Gaynor, Anthony Gaynor, Dominic Gennaro, and Bella Davis, and a proud great-uncle to Perry Sparks and Luna Sparks, all of whom brought him tremendous joy.

A dedicated member of the International Association of Machinists (IAM), Joe took great pride in his work and the friendships he made throughout his career. Outside of work, he was happiest in the kitchen preparing meals for those he loved or hosting family and friends for swim parties, where laughter was always on the menu.

In accordance with Joe's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay your respects for a memorial visitation on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Home, 7027 Gravois Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri 63116.

Joe will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him. His humor, kindness, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
