Joseph Herbert Penrod was born on September 21, 1941, in a farmhouse in Crittenden County outside of Earle, Arkansas. The family relocated to St. Louis, Missouri, when he was 10 years old.
He joined the Navy as a young man and was a proud veteran.
He married Kathleen Cecelia Cannon Penrod in February 1965, and they remained joined in matrimony until her death on December 22, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley David Penrod and Mildred Quita Layton Penrod, and his brothers, John Michael Penrod, Thomas Wayne Penrod, and Carl Winford Penrod.
He was the father of Shelley Marie Penrod and David Rafe Penrod. He was the much-loved “Uncle Joe” to many nieces and nephews and family friends.
