Joyce Faye Sieber, nee Welch, peacefully Asleep in Jesus on Saturday June 20, 2026, at the age of 81. Beloved wife of and reunited in Heaven with the late John Sieber, Jr; devoted mother of Ron (Debbie) Sieber, Joyce Ann Sieber, and David (Theresa) Sieber; blessed grandmother of Dana Miriani and Darcee Locklear; treasured sister; and precious daughter of the late Alfred and Georgia, nee West, Welch. Joyce is also survived by many other dear relatives and friends.
Born on July 6, 1944, in Ironton, Missouri, to Alfred and Georgia Welch, Joyce Faye was a woman of remarkable tenacity all throughout her fulfilling life. Joyce was dedicated to her family, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and her church, Holy Cross Lutheran. In addition to working for many years as the church’s office secretary, Joyce found great peace and fellowship in the Bible Study Group at church.
Outside of her strong Lutheran faith, Joyce held a great love for others and simple but fulfilling pleasures. She enjoyed watching television daily, gameshows to keep mind sharp and Westerns to indulge in action and drama. Many of Joyce’s family and friends will cherish memories of her through the unifying power of sharing a meal. As Joyce continued to make and keep friendships throughout her life, many friendships were formed over dinner at Orchid Terrace, a time of day that Joyce looked forward to enjoying. She will especially be remembered for her love of frog legs, carrot cake, and --every now and then-- a nice cold beer.
Joyce was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister who loved many and was, in turn, deeply adored. As she is reunited with her loved ones and her Savior, her family takes comfort in the many “Big Mama” stories that will be told for generations to come.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, in Joyce’s honor.
A visitation for Joyce's friends and family to gather and share memories will be held on Thursday July 2, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until her 11:45 a.m. funeral service at John L. Zigenehein & Sons South County Chapel 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63129. Immediately following, Joyce's cemetery ceremony and subsequent interment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, alongside her beloved husband, the late John Jr.
