Judith Catherine Metzger

Judith Catherine Metzger. Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Judy passed away on January 8, 2026 after a short illness. She was 84. Beloved wife of Michael Metzger; our cherished sister, mother, grandmother, cousin and friend to many.

A native of the Nutmeg State, she graduated from St. Raphel’s School of Nursing and became a registered nurse, working in Connecticut, Missouri, and California. While in Missouri she met her husband Mike, starting their 37-year adventure together. She served as the head of Enterostomal Therapy at UCLA/Santa Monica Hospital for close to 10 years, teaching and aiding hundreds of patients in their recovery from surgery and adjustment to new life boundaries.

Although saddened to see her go, we are comforted knowing she is now reunited with Mike, her siblings Jack and Patty, and numerous relatives and friends who have gone before her.

Memorials are appreciated in lieu of flowers to: West Haven Community House.

Visitation will be held on January 13, 2026 from 9:30-10:30 am, at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, St Louis, Missouri 63129. A Mass of Christian Burial in her memory will start at 11 am at Assumption Catholic Church, 4725 Mattis Road, St Louis Missouri, 63128 Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.  A livestream will be available for those unable to attend in person due to infirmity, and can be viewed at http://www.assumptionlive.com.
