Julia Markus, 91, was reunited with her Lord and Savior on December 20, 2021, daughter of the late George and Barbara, nee Martini, Markus, loving mother of Linda (Sam) Boyer, cherished grandmother of Samuel and Michael Boyer, dear sister of Marie Gross. She was preceded in death by 8 brothers; Philip, Frank, George, Michael, Arthur, John, Jerome, and Richard, as well as 2 sisters; Rose Wentzel and Barbara Impastato. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Julia was retired from Southwestern Bell where she was active in the Pioneers. She was a former member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church where she was a past president of their seniors’ group. Julia was currently a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church where she served in the Oasis Tutoring Program and as a playground monitor.
Memorials are appreciated to the American Cancer Society .
Services: Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons South City Chapel, 7027 Gravois Ave. Funeral service will be held at 11 am, Thursday, December 30, 2021, also at the funeral home. Interment will be in New St. Marcus Cemetery.
