Katherine A. Holtgrieve

Katherine Adele Holtgrieve, nee Schimmer, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the blessed age of 96. Beloved wife of and reunited in Heaven with the late William Martin Holtgrieve; devoted mom of Marsha (Dan) Narzinski and Bill (Kim) Holtgrieve; cherished grandma of Kirk (Amy) Narzinski, Erin Humphreys, Dakota (Mara) Holtgrieve, and Cannon (Blair) Holtgrieve; and blessed great-grandma of eight. Katherine is also survived by many other relatives and dear friends.

Katherine was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to parents Louis and Katherine, nee Hie, Schimmer in September of 1929. Throughout her life the values and faith instilled in her during her early years were central to her relationships and actions. Katherine’s faith was at the center of everything she believed and did. Her faith and love for the Lord and others was her foundation, and the love, patience, and grace that she shared was felt by all who met her.

As a wife, mom, and grandma, Katherine was a quintessential homemaker. She was happiest when her family was happy and healthy, and she found joy when she could help family and friends. Katherine loved listening to her friends’ and family’s stories, enjoying the joy and excitement that they shared in retelling their adventures and accomplishments. Katherine was known to enjoy her own adventures, too, as she loved to travel and dance. She was grateful for all the joys and blessings to be found wherever she was.

Katherine touched many lives and made many memories throughout her blessed 96 years, and while we will miss her greatly, we rejoice that she is united with the Lord and many loved ones. We cherish the memories that we shared with her. May she rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Katherine’s honor.

A memorial service for Katherine’s friends and family to gather and share memories will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at EverTrue Meremac Bluffs Chapel, 1 Meremac Bluffs Dr. Ballwin, MO 63021, at 2:00 p.m. Respectfully, burial will be privately held.
