Kathleen M. Schwartz, 79, entered into rest on February 23, 2026. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Kathleen lived a life defined by love, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to family and friends.
Kathleen was the beloved wife of the late John A. Schwartz and a devoted sister to Donna M. Jennerjohn. She was a proud mother of three daughters, a cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren, and a delighted great-grandmother to two great-grandchildren.
Kathleen spent her career as a preschool teacher, a role that reflected her natural warmth, patience, and love. Her home and her heart were always open, offering comfort, guidance, and stability to many who needed it. She had a rare ability to make people feel seen and supported, becoming a trusted friend and mother figure to countless individuals throughout her life.
She was warm, loving, witty, and honest, with a presence that put others at ease. Kathleen had a way of making everyone feel welcome. She listened without judgment, offered advice when needed, and showed up consistently for those she cared about. Her strength and compassion shaped generations and left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
The undeniable matriarch of the family, Kathleen was the heart that held everyone together. Her love, humor, and fierce devotion will be deeply missed, but her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the family she so proudly led.
Family and friends to gather and celebrate Kathy's life will take place on March 1, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service on March 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM both visitation and service held at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons Funeral Homes - South City Chapel, located at 7027 Gravois Ave, St. Louis, MO 63116.
