Lawrence "Larry" George Schraut

Schraut, Lawrence G. (“Larry”) fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Saturday, September 30, 2023, at age 80.

Beloved husband of 47 years of Joan Schraut (nee Lehr); devoted father of Tom (Peggy) Visconti and Danielle (Tim) Brockhaus; cherished grandfather of Adam (Samantha) Brockhaus, Erica (Kyle) May, Caroline (Ryan) Runion, Gabrielle (Nick) Green, Blake (Rachel) Brockhaus, Emma (Ben) Weinreis, and Natalie Visconti; and loving great-grandfather of 8. Preceded in death by George and Betty Schraut (nee Dolles). Dear brother of Carole (the late Karl) Tensing and brother in law of Luan Lehr. Dearest uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Larry spent many hours on the sidelines of many sporting events cheering on his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors as an avid fisherman and golfer and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will take place Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63129. Prayers will occur at the funeral home the following morning Friday, October 6, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. before leaving to hold a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church, 4900 Ringer Rd. St. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Larry’s name to the Alzheimer Association are requested.
