With great sadness, we announce the passing of Linda L. (“Rusty”) Werner, who died peacefully on July 7th at the age of 75.
She was born in St. Louis and was the beloved wife of Mark and mother of Brian (Michelle – deceased), devoted grandmother to Faith, dear sister-in-law to Lynn, cherished bonus mom to Dave & Tracy, and Grammy Rusty to Austin, Tucker, Owen, and Henry. Rusty cherished the friends she made over the years, and she held on tightly to those. She was “Mama Rusty” to so many – a confidant, a mother figure, a friend. She was a pet mom to many dogs and cats over the years, and she loved them all very much. Rusty had many jobs, but her favorite was singing – many will remember her from her time singing at Frank Moskus’ In Exile tavern in South City, or from her performances at many parties and gatherings of friends. She loved the St. Louis Cardinals like no other, and was a loyal fan until the end.
She was loved, and will be missed by all who knew her.
A visitation (9am-11am) and memorial service (11am) will be held at John L. Zeigenhein Funeral Home South City Chapel on Saturday, July 12.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Stray Rescue of St. Louis.
