Schrodt, Lois M. (nee Yaeger).

Baptized into Christ Thursday March 28, 2024. 

Lois was born on Valentine's Day 1938 to Leo D. and Irene H. Yaeger. She was the oldest child. She had a younger brother, Leo, and a younger sister, Diane. Her father, Leo, died in 1984 and her mother, Irene, died in 2002. Both her siblings are deceased. In 1976, she married Daniel C. Schrodt. They have 4 children, Charles (Barbara) Mueller, Paul (Tamara) Mueller, Denise Bishop, and Valerie (Scott) Akerson. Lois's most esteemed role was Grandma (Mimaw). She was Grandma to Marsha (Timothy) Pherigo, Taylor Mueller, Mark Mueller, Chloe, Collin, & Camryn Akerson, and Khalia Bishop. She is also great grandmother to 2. Lois is a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Lois "learned from the best" from her mother, Irene, on how to be the best mother and grandmother around.

Anyone who knew Lois knew there was not a mean bone in her body. She was easygoing, loved to laugh, and just "be" with people. She was not overly affectionate or demonstrative, but "ya just knew" without a doubt how she felt about you. She would move mountains for her grandkids, and at times, she did. She was the glue that held the family together.

This week, things changed very quickly. In the midst of her uncontrollable pain, the true Lois was evident. While we knew she was afraid of what was ahead of her, she spent beautiful sweet time with each grandchild and told them what she hoped for them. She told her children how proud she was of them and asked them to take care of dad. Not one thing in the midst of her pain was about her.

Visitation Monday April 1, 2024, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63129. Funeral Tuesday, April 2 at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons at 12:30 pm. Private interment in Park Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, 1465 S. Grand Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63104.
