Winkelman, Lorraine H. “Rainy” (nee Vonder Haar)
Baptized into the hope of Christ’s Resurrection, on Wednesday November 1, 2023, at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Vincent R. Winkelman, Beloved mother of Kenneth (Sally), Kathleen, Keith (Theresa), and the late James; cherished grandmother of Brian, Gregory, Kevin (Elizabeth), Kelly, and Eric; daughter of the late Fred and the late Bertha Vonder Haar (nee Brown); dear sister of the late Dorothy Squires, and the late Marion “Sis” Vonder Haar; dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Lorraine was a very active member of her community and church. She was a Den Mother of Cub Scout Troop 129, a member of Ladies Sodality at St. George and Label Ladies at St. George, and was a seamstress, making clothing for the underprivileged. Lorraine was an avid sports fan, especially of the St. Louis Cardinals. Some of Lorraine’s hobbies and talents included fishing, gardening, especially vegetables, and baking, with birthday cakes and her Christmas celebrations bringing joy to loved ones. She will be missed greatly. Special thanks to Mercy Hospice.

Visitation on Monday November 6, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. at John L. Ziegenehin & Sons South City Chapel, 7027 Gravois Ave., St. Louis, MO 63116. Funeral Mass Tuesday November 7, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church. Interment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 10:45 a.m.
